Taking time to see the little things
In the past, if anyone had asked me, I would have called myself a landscape photographer. Armed with my wide angle, I’d be totally focussed on capturing ‘the big picture’. On our outdoor trips together, Debs would often point things out to me like “Look at how these dew drops are catching the sunlight.” or “Ooooh, look at these tiny mushrooms.” I would just shake my head and keep on moving.
On one hand, I think it’s good that we have a different eye for things as, together, we can tell a more complete story. I have however started to gain a better appreciation for the smaller things that make up the world around us.
After all, isn’t the big picture just made up of lots of little pictures?
